The Land of Shem

This project started off as a reimagined Snow White, set in Syria around the 19th - 20th century. What initially inspired me for this setting was a Twitter thread detailing the courtyards and innate cooling mechanisms of houses in Syria — the designs of these houses fascinated me, partly due to their similarities with courtyard houses in India. As I continued my research, this project morphed into something more experimental and a tad indulgent, as I got to research and make designs based off of the courtyard houses I personally admired growing up!
